1. What cookies are

Cookies are small text files a website stores in your browser when you visit it. They let the site remember information about your visit, such as your preferences, making browsing more useful. We also use similar technologies, like the browser local storage, for the same purpose.

2. Why we use cookies

I use browser storage for one thing only: to remember your decision about cookies, so you are not asked again on every visit. If one day I install a measurement tool, it is only enabled after you expressly allow it — never before.

3. Cookie categories

We group cookies into three categories. You control each of them in the preferences panel:

Essential Always on

They store the record of your own choice about cookies, so the notice does not reappear on every visit and so I can show the choice was made. It is the only item this site stores today. Because it is indispensable to the notice, it is always on and does not depend on permission.

Performance and analytics Optional

Today this category is empty: I use no measurement tool and no analytics data is collected, even if you accept everything. It exists in the panel for the day I install one — and on that day, measurement only starts running after your permission, with this policy updated first.

Functionality Optional

Today this category is empty as well: the site embeds no third-party content — no map, video or embedded widget, and the fonts are served from our own domain. Turning it off changes nothing right now. It exists in case I embed something like that in the future.

What this site stores today

To be direct: this site stores no cookies at all. What it stores is a single item in your browser's local storage.

• Name: chibo-cookie-consent
• Type: local storage (localStorage), first-party — it is never sent to any server, it stays in your browser
• Purpose: to keep your choice about cookies and to show that it was made
• Content: which categories you accepted, the date of the choice and the version of the notice
• Duration: 12 months — after that the record expires and the notice asks again

That is all. There is no measurement, advertising or social network cookie on this site. If one day there is, this list is updated before the item goes live.

4. Cookies and third-party services

Some site features rely on third-party services, which may set cookies or receive technical data such as your IP address:

• Hosting and delivery network — the provider hosting the site processes technical access data to serve the pages and keep them secure;
• Traffic analytics — I do not use any at the moment. If I start to, I will say here which one it is, what it stores and for how long, before turning it on.

These services have their own privacy policies, which we recommend reading. You can reduce this sharing by rejecting non-essential cookies. The site fonts are hosted on our own domain, so no request is made to third-party servers to load them.

5. Cookies and personal data

Some cookies may collect information considered personal data, such as your IP address. When that happens, the processing of that data follows our Privacy Policy and the Brazilian General Data Protection Law (LGPD).

6. How to manage and disable cookies

Through the site preferences panel

On your first visit, the site shows a cookie notice where you can accept all, reject the non-essential ones or customise your choice by category. You can review or change that decision at any time through the Cookie preferences link, available in the footer of every page.

Your choice is stored in your browser and is valid for 12 months. After that it expires and the notice appears again.

Through your browser settings

You can also control, block or delete cookies directly in your browser. The paths vary:

• Google Chrome — Settings › Privacy and security › Cookies and other site data;
• Mozilla Firefox — Settings › Privacy & Security › Cookies and Site Data;
• Microsoft Edge — Settings › Cookies and site permissions;
• Safari — Settings › Privacy.

Most browsers also offer a private browsing mode, which limits cookie storage.

7. Effects of disabling cookies

You are free to refuse. Because the performance and functionality categories are empty today, refusing them changes nothing in your browsing. If you block all storage from this site in your browser, the effect is just one: I cannot record your choice, and the notice comes back on every visit. The rest of the site keeps working normally.

8. Changes to this Policy

This Cookie Policy may be updated at any time to reflect technological or legal changes, or changes in how we use cookies. The version in force is always the one published on this page, with the last-updated date.
